Tidewater’s 486-Class Anchor Handlers

New Orleans based Tidewater took delivery of 5 new Anchor Handlers from Yantai Shipyard, China, in 2003/2004.
The highly automated 486-class vessls have been equipped with four EMD engines and eight GE 2250HP propulsion motors. Siemens provided the gear for the medium - and low voltage switchboards, the power management and propulsion package. The VAS (Vessel Automation System) is made by Praxis (Radio Holland). 
 

The Anchor Winches and Winch Control System have been supplied by Rolls Royce.

The Dynamic Positioning System by Kongsberg Norway.

Ryno Enterprises is providing services for the Simatic S7 PLC’s and 6RA24 Simoreg Drives on board
the 486-class vessels.
Tidewater is also participating in our maintenance plan for the propulsion motors.
